Welcome Sarah Andrews: Teaching, Learning and Technology Assessment Consultant
Meet Sarah Andrews, ASSETT’s Teaching, Learning, and Technology Assessment Consultant! She holds a PhD in Earth & Environmental Science with a Cognate in Classroom Teaching from the University of New Hampshire. Half of her dissertation was devoted to education-based research with a focus on transforming an introductory science course to a studio-style, student-centered active learning environment.
Prior to joining ASSETT she spent four years helping departments in A&S and CEAS at Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØBoulder improve their teaching evaluation practices as the project lead for the Teaching Quality Framework Initiative and consultant for the A&S Quality Teaching Initiative. Through this work she enjoyed working with faculty across multiple disciplines and is excited to continue working with faculty through her new position in ASSETT!
Sarah is interested in assessment at multiple scales and forms (e.g., assessment of student learning and their experiences, formative assessment & feedback on teaching practices, assessment of ASSETT programs & services, etc.), towards the goals of improving the student experience and understanding the teaching, learning, and technology needs of the Arts & Sciences community. Please connect with her if you have questions about assessment in your courses or if you’re interested in ASSETT’s Visualizing Instructional Practices (VIP) Service.
When she is not at work, Sarah enjoys baking/cooking (in another life she managed a kitchen in a health food store), reading, dabbling in art, and going for leisurely walks in the hills.
