Microalgae are some of the most ancient and prolific life forms on our planet. These microscopic organisms are biological powerhouses—reproducing rapidly, they are energy-dense sources of renewable resources with applications as foods, fuels, bioplastics and more. The goal of this project is to develop and disseminate an open-source bioreactor to grow microalgae, and to develop new uses for microalgae in response to evolving societal and environmental needs. This work is made possible by a grant from Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØBoulder's Engineering Excellence Fund.
