2020 Hazel Barnes Prize Award to Adam Bradley
English Professor Adam Bradely was announced as the recipient of the 2020 Hazel Barnes Prize, the most esteemed award a faculty member can receive from the university.
Nominated for his impact as both a teacher and a researcher, Bradely was described by Phillip Distefano as "exemplify(ing)the qualities of leadership, innovation and impact." Bradely is an experiment in African American literature and hip-hop culture, and is considered an authority on the 20th-century novelist Ralph Ellison. He has transformed the English department curriculum by creating a new courses, and he established the Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØLaboratory for Race and Popular Culture in 2013. He has served on various leadership committees for both the university and the academic world at large, and is the author of a number of books.
