Important Information for Leeds IUT

In order to apply for IUT to Leeds, you must:

  • have completed all IUT requirements, or
  • be in progress with the remaining IUT requirements in the current semester.

All applications must be received by the following deadlines:

  • October 1 (11:59 p.m.): Spring Admission
  • March 1 (11:59 p.m.): Summer and Fall Admission

Important application notes:

  • All applications will be reviewed to determine eligibility for on-track registration access (see below).
  • Applications received after the posted deadlines may be reviewed on a space-available basis, but admission is unlikely due to space limitations.
  • If you have requirements in progress, your application will be held until grades are posted and an admissions decision will be made at the end of the semester.

***IUT Admission is not guaranteed and is based on space-availability. ***

The cost of tuition at Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØvaries based on the student’s college. When students successfully IUT into Leeds, they will be charged the Leeds tuition rate beginning the semester for which they are admitted, whether or not they enroll in business courses. Please visit the Bursar’s Office website for more information on tuition costs.

On-track registration access allows students to register for BCOR classes before they are officially admitted to Leeds.

To be eligible for on-track registration access, you must submit your IUT application by the posted deadline and meet the following criteria:

  • Current cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher (3.20 or higher starting for SP25 admissions)
  • Have completed or be in progress with credit hour and coursework requirements

If you are eligible for on-track registration access, you will be allowed to register for BCOR classes before you are officially admitted to Leeds. You will be notified before registration begins and provided instructions on how to register for business classes.

Students who receive on-track registration access are not admitted to Leeds yet. We will hold your application review it at the end of the semester for admission.

  • If you meet all IUT requirements at the end of the semester, your IUT application will be approved and you will be admitted to Leeds.
  • If you do NOT meet all IUT requirements at the end of the semester, your IUT application will be denied and you will be removed from business courses.

During the Fall and Spring semesters, BCOR classes are restricted to business students. The only exception is for students who qualify for on-track registration access as detailed above. Non-business students who do not qualify for on-track registration access may take BCOR courses through Continuing Education or during the summer term.

Campus policy states that students will have a maximum of three graded attempts to achieve the minimum grades for each IUT requirement, starting with the Spring 2024 IUT Application Cycle. Please note that courses taken as pass/fail will count as graded attempts.

Each time a prospective IUT course is taken, it counts as one attempt towards fulfilling a specific IUT requirement. Therefore, students who have met or exceeded three attempts in an IUT requirement (not three attempts per course) without achieving the minimum grade will have their IUT Application denied and they will be ineligible to reapply to the same IUT college/school/program.

Example: If a student received failing grades in MATH 2510 twice and in SOCY 2061 once, they would be ineligible for an IUT into any major in Leeds.

The policy will include courses taken as part of Grade Replacement. Therefore, students will only be permitted to retake an IUT requirement two additional times after their initial enrollment.

The following course attempts will NOT count as a graded attempt for an IUT requirement:

  • Dropped courses
  • Withdrawn (W) courses
  • Retroactive withdrawals
  • Transfer courses (taken outside of Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØBoulder)
  • Advanced placement (AP) courses
  • International Baccalaureate (IB) courses
  • If you are currently a Leeds student and want to switch into a different school/college/program, you must follow the IUT guidelines for the school/college/program you wish to change into. Visit the Office of Undergraduate Education IUT webpage to find information for the specific school/college/program you are interested in
  • If you are currently a dual degree student (you have a major in Leeds and a major outside of Leeds) and you want to drop Leeds, you must fill out the  and select “IUT Dropâ€

If you IUT out of Leeds or drop Leeds as a second degree, you must meet all IUT requirements to regain admission to Leeds. Talk to your Leeds advisor if you have any questions before dropping Leeds.
