Ubochi Igbokwe is a fourth-year doctoral student studying Ethnomusicology here at Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØBoulder. She is an instructor and teaching assistant at the College of Music and a Graduate Fellow at the Center for African and African American Studies (CAAAS). At the American Music Research Center (AMRC),her scope of duties included cataloging the digital objects associated with Grauman Theater Scores, Glenn Miller Collections, and importation of digital objects related to popular music through the Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØWorld Cat. Her research experience in Igbo and African music and festivals has led to numerous international conference presentations in the United States, Portugal, Thailand, Ireland, and Nigeria, with publications in several journals, including the Yearbook for Traditional Music, the official journal of International Council for Traditions of Music and Dance (ICTMD). Igbokwe’s intellectual curiosity inspired her to embark on pre-dissertation research trips to Japan in the summers of 2023 and 2024 to study Igbo-African music and cultural arts.
