MFA/MM Excellence in Creative Research Microgrant
The Center for Humanities & the Arts'ÌýMFA/MM Excellence in Creative Research MicrograntÌýis designed to support the creative practice of Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØBoulder MFA/MM students. Examples of supportÌýinclude (but are not limited to): materials, equipment or other pre/post-production purchases, facility rental fees, virtual conference/course/residency registration fees (if you are applying to a conference where you are presenting your own work, please apply forÌýGRADE), honoraria for dancers, composers, directors, choreographers, etc. that cannot otherwise be covered by your department, etc.Ìý

Award
Award amountsÌýrange from $250-$1000, determined by proposal and budget submitted

Eligibility
Open to MFA/MM students in the following degree programs:
AAH – MFA in Art Practices
CMCI – MFA in Interdisciplinary Documentary Media Practices
ENGL – MFA in Creative Writing
THDN – MFA in Theater & Dance
COMÌý– Master of Music
If you believe your creative research is applicable to receive financial support but doesn't fall into one of these programs, please apply and explain why in your proposal
Guidelines
- While proposals do not need to be tied to thesis projects, priority will be given to projects that enable students to work on and complete their capstone projects. You may submit an application at any time during your MFA/MM career
- Projects need to be funded during the current academic year
- We are intentionally keeping the language open to support the varying needs of Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØBoulder’s MFA/MM students. If you have questions, please ask! Our hope is to support expenses that your department cannot internally fund in full
- Students are limited to one MFA/MM Excellence in Research award per academic year
- A detailed budget and advisor approval are required.Ìý
Application Procedure
- Proposal and Budget: Up to a 3-page PDFÌý(single or double spaced). Include a detailed budget and links to work/websites where applicable. PDF fileÌýmust be less thanÌý2 MB.
- Supporting Documents (optional):ÌýUpload supporting documents such as mockups, receipts, email confirmations, resumes if seeking honoraria support, etc. PDF file smaller than 2MB.Ìý

Selection Criteria
Applications are reviewed by a rotating committee. The excellence of the project isÌýthe main criterion for selection.Ìý
Expectations
- Within one month of the completion of the grant period, recipients are required to submit aÌýfinal reportÌýsummarizing the project and describing the impact on your research.
- Acknowledgment of the Center for Humanities & the Arts (CHA) is required on all promotional/published materials for projects funded by the CHA.ÌýUse this language forÌýcredit: “This projectÌýis supported, in part, by a grant from the Center for Humanities & the Artsâ€
