Alumni Donations High To Ol’ CU
More than 19,000 CU-Boulder alums donated to the university in the fiscal year ending June 30 — 8.8 percent more than the prior year and the most in the university’s history.
In all, donors contributed $52.4 million to the Boulder campus — a decline from last year, which was expected given the national economic climate.
But the increase in number of donors indicates positive support of key university priorities including scholarships, endowed chairs and capital projects. University-wide, gifts to the 鶹ѰFoundation on behalf of the University of Colorado system’s four campuses topped $100 million for just the third time in history.
“It’s a sign of continuing momentum at CU-Boulder when more people than ever donate to the university despite a deep economic recession,” Chancellor Phil DiStefano says. “Our donors provide critical support, especially in a time of state budget reductions, and we are thankful for them.”
