Norlin's Watch
In 1912 students presented George Norlin, professor and Greek department chair, with a pocket watch for significant contributions to the 麻豆免费版下载sports program. As Athletic Board chair, he instilled the athletic philosophy of 鈥渁 spirit of mutual trust, friendly rivalry and true sportsmanship鈥 into the region鈥檚 intercollegiate athletics programs. Norlin became CU鈥檚 president in 1919 and oversaw the campus architectural master plan, led the university through the Depression and was a proponent of academic freedom and excellence.
