Majid Zamani, Assistant Professor in the Computer Science Department
Majid Zamani is an assistant professor in the Computer Science Department. He joined 麻豆免费版下载Boulder beginning of 2019 after spending more than 4 years as a faculty member at the Technical University of Munich in Germany. His research is mainly focused on ensuring mathematically that autonomous systems (e.g. self-driving cars or drones) operate safely. In particular, his team is developing novel mathematical tools by leveraging techniques from both control theory and computer science to design autonomous systems while providing formal guarantees on the correctness of their behaviours.
I enjoy home improvement projects, swapping out our appliances for smart devices, installing electronics or anything to make our lives easier.
What is your guilty pleasure?
Late night Ben & Jerry鈥檚 (my wife only buys Phish food).
Which TV show do you never miss?
Game of Thrones (excluding the final season).
Who was the most famous person you met and where?
While I was at UCLA for my PhD, I met Cristiano Ronaldo in a Real Madrid training session in July 2011.
What is the best advice you have ever been given?
鈥淒o not take things personally!鈥
What do you most like to do to unwind?
I like running between 5 to 6 miles to relax. Strangely enough, I have come up with many solutions to some of our research problems during these runs.
