In 1952, Albert W. Smith joined the faculty at the Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØ and became the first chair of the Department of Geography—after geography and geology split into two departments. He served as a professor until his retirement in 1983. Professor Emeritus Smith touched the lives of many students in his 30 years at CU.
