Stevi Ibonie is a 4th-year ICS graduate student and a graduate student in the Clinical Psychology program working with June Gruber. This award recognizes Stevi’s outstanding commitment to teaching, mentorship, and student support. Stevi has excelled as a TA in multiple core psychology courses (e.g., research methods) and currently serves as a Graduate Part-Time Instructor. Stevi independently teaches PSYC 3303 (Psychological Disorders), where she has been praised for her clear, inclusive, and engaging teaching style. One classroom observer noted that “Stevi excelled at engaging students with the course material while encouraging them to think critically in a supportive manner.” Beyond the classroom, Stevi has served as the Graduate Teaching and Learning Fellow for our department and supports teaching across campus as a Graduate Teaching and Learning Fellow at the Center for Teaching & Learning. Of note, Stevi is a devoted mentor: she supports undergraduates through honors research projects and poster presentations (e.g., for Undergraduate Research Day), as well as serves in a leading role in the PASTA initiative where she organizes career development workshops and supports students from diverse backgrounds. Stevi is widely recognized by both students and faculty as a compassionate, creative, and inspiring educator.
