In Honor of Veterans Day, we are thrilled to highlight Colorado Law鈥檚 Military Law Society (MLS). We spoke to MLS President Zach Cohen 鈥25 to learn more about this student organization.
- Founded in 1978, the Getches-Green Natural Resources, Energy, and Environmental Law Clinic is one of the country's first environmental law clinics. Students in the clinic engage in litigation and related advocacy efforts, most commonly on behalf of national or local environmental groups. Clinic students draft pleadings and briefs, counsel their clients, develop case theories and legal strategies, participate in settlement negotiations, and, occasionally, present oral arguments in federal court. - The 13th Annual John Paul Stevens Lecture was held in the Wittemyer Courtroom on Thursday, October 24th. The Honorable Stephen A. Higginson joined the Byron R. White Center for the Study of American Constitutional Law to offer 鈥淭he Nuremberg Trials: Lessons for Law Students, Lawyers, & Judges鈥 to the Colorado Law community. Judge Higginson has served in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit since 2011 and is currently serving as the presiding judge of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court of Review.

- Each spring and fall, the Colorado Supreme Court and Court of Appeals provide an educational outreach program called Courts in the Community for high schools--and sometimes universities -- which provides an opportunity to expose students to the state鈥檚 appellate process. On Oct. 24, the Supreme Court visited Colorado Law. Attendees witnessed oral arguments for two real cases, chosen by specifically considering students鈥 interests.
- The William A. Wise Law Library strives to support the Law School and its many programs, clinics, and centers. The Law Library is lucky to have a law librarian with decades of experience in Indigenous People鈥檚 Law to support the American Indian Law Program (AILP) here at Colorado Law.
- On September 26, members of the Colorado Law community got a unique chance to witness oral arguments before the esteemed judges of the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. Attendees gained invaluable insights into the judicial process as they observed real-time interactions between judges and attorneys of one of the nation's most important appellate courts.
- This year, the Law Alumni Board is thrilled to celebrate six distinguished graduates at its 44th annual Alumni Awards Banquet. The honorees for the 2025 Alumni Awards are: Michael McCarthy 鈥75, Sara Hoverstock 鈥04, William Leone 鈥82, Amy Parsons 鈥99, Marissa Kardon Weber 鈥19, and Eric Williams 鈥05.
- On Oct. 17 鈥 19, the University of Colorado Law School hosted the Women in Legal Education Conference at Colorado Law.
