This Week at the College of Music: Faculty and Staff Edition - April 1, 2021
Each spring, talented students across the College of Music vie for a chance to perform with the Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØSymphony Orchestra the following school year. The two outstanding winners of our 2021 Honors Competition are Ethan Blake (BM cello) and Anita Dumar (AD violin): "I’m pinching myself!" Dumar says. Meet Ethan and Anita here, and with the University Symphony this fall.
In further winning news, DMA student Julia Taylor (violin) won $1K in the New Venture Challenge. Her innovative idea? Chinlax—a smart violin chin rest that helps violinists practice form and develop healthy practice habits. Additionally, the Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØBoulder Trumpet Ensemble advanced to the quarterfinals of the 48th Fischoff Chamber Music Competition, as well as the finals of the 2021 National Trumpet Competition. Congratulations to all!
