Credentials, Policies & Parking

Credentials

Credentials will be available for pick up between 5:00-7 a.m. on commencement day May 9, in the Champions Center ticket lobby behind the Ralphie statue. The center is located at Folsom Street and Stadium Drive in the northeast corner of the stadium.Ìý

Parking

Media must RSVP to obtain an authorized Folsom Parking Garage parking permit, which is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • Access to the garage will close promptly at 7 a.m. An overflow lot will be available to additional media and to those who arrive after 7 a.m.
  • Permits will be emailed to requestors by a Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØBoulder media relations ahead of commencement day. It is your responsibility to print the permit to bring with you. Please display the permit on your front dash.
  • Take the elevator to the Champions Center ticket lobby (Level 1) to pick up credentials, which are required to cover any portion of commencement day.
  • Live trucks are not permitted on commencement day. Please plan accordingly.
  • Folsom Parking Garage will not reopen until about one hour after the ceremony.

A media workroom with WiFi, power connection and a pre- and post-ceremony live shot space will be available during and after the event.

Traffic

U.S. 36 and Colorado 93 will experience increased traffic on commencement day. Please allow extra time to arrive in Boulder, locate parking and retrieve credentials before 7 a.m.

Field access

Photographers and videographers must be credentialed to access the field. The stadium will open at 6:45 a.m. A Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØBoulder media relations staff member will bring members of the media to the media staging area.

  • Media staging will be on the east sideline between the north 40–50-yard line.Ìý
  • Media will be allowed to access designated areas of the field when accompanied by a Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØBoulder media relations staff member (see map below).

Interviews

One-on-one interviews in advance or day-of are available upon request with campus spokesperson, individual grads (see commencement story ideas), Chancellor Philip DiStefano and others. Requests must be made by Wednesday, May 8.Ìý

Graduating student interviews will be available from 7:15-7:45 a.m. before the commencement procession. All media interested in student interviews must meet at Gate 14 (north side of stadium) at 7 a.m. to walk to Norlin Quad with a media relations staff member. Media must check in and receive a credential prior to meeting and leaving for student interviews. Student interviews are not permitted between 7:45 a.m. and the end of the ceremony. There will be a zero-tolerance policy for media who do not abide by these guidelines.

Procession filming

Media are allowed to photograph/record the procession between Norlin Quad and Folsom Field with a Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØBoulder media relations escort.

Security screening

Journalists can bring their regular photography gear and laptop bags. Media will undergo security screening prior to entering the stadium. Ìý
