Why they submitted this recipe: This recipe has been part of my family for a few generations. And it’s not something we’ve ever seen anywhere else.
Ingredients
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 slices of bread
- 4 tablespoons peanut butter
- Dash of nutmeg
- Dash of cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil or frying pan spray
Directions
- Mix egg, milk, nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla into a liquid batter.
- Separately, make a peanut butter sandwich with two slices of bread and peanut butter.
- Heat frying pan or griddle on low to medium heat.
- Dip both sides of sandwich into batter. Place sandwich into frying pan.
- Continue to flip until each side is lightly fried.
- Once done, place on plate, cover with optional powdered sugar, fresh fruit, butter as topping and syrup.
