Why they submitted this recipe: This recipe has been part of my family for a few generations. And it’s not something we’ve ever seen anywhere else.

Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 slices of bread
  • 4 tablespoons peanut butter
  • Dash of nutmeg
  • Dash of cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil or frying pan spray

Directions

  1. Mix egg, milk, nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla into a liquid batter.
  2. Separately, make a peanut butter sandwich with two slices of bread and peanut butter.
  3. Heat frying pan or griddle on low to medium heat.
  4. Dip both sides of sandwich into batter. Place sandwich into frying pan.
  5. Continue to flip until each side is lightly fried.
  6. Once done, place on plate, cover with optional powdered sugar, fresh fruit, butter as topping and syrup.
