As a second-year Master’s student in Communication, my research interests involve mass media and political discourses, computer-mediated communication, and Western discourses of neoliberal economic policy and labor more broadly. More specifically, I’m interested in how prevailing discourses in the realms of media and politics represent particular people and groups as particular types of economic beings. I’m also interested in how those people and groups think and talk about their positions in relation to those discourses, as well as how people engage in political arguments in various online discussion forums. I received a BA in English Literature and Language and a BS in Economics from Virginia Tech in 2016.
