Deborah WhiteheadÌý(she/her) is Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Religious Studies and Associate Director of the Center for Media, Religion, and Culture at the Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØ. Her research focuses on intersections between religion and philosophy, gender, popular culture, and media in US history. She is the author ofÌýWilliam James, Pragmatism, and American CultureÌý(Indiana University Press, 2016), and her current book project is a study of contemporary US evangelical media.Ìý

Whitehead's Project

Whitehead will be working on a project focused on expressions of philosemitism, or deliberately positive conceptions, and sometimes appropriations, of Jews, Jewishness, and Judaism based on stereotypes, among contemporary white U.S. evangelicals.Ìý
