The MAXWELL project is part of the Graduate Projects program at the Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØ. It is run entirely by students in conjuction with faculty and professional advisors who provide technical advice and direction for aspects of the project. Starting in August 2019, the MAXWELL CubeSat will be build in the new Aerospace Building on East Campus which will be a hub of innovtion and discovery for the Aerospace Department at the Univeristy of Colorado.

The Air Force Research Laboratory provides the facilities for environmental testing of the MAXWELL flight hardware. Once MAXWELL has been built and functionally tested at the Univeristy of Colorado Boulder, it will be shipped to the AFRL facility in Albequerque New Mexico where environmental testing will take place to qualify MAXWELL for flight.

The University Nanosatellite Program (UNP) selected MAXWELL as the 9th competition cycle winner and funded the MAXWELL project. MAXWELL will be manifest on a launch vehicle in Fall/Winter of 2020.
