Assistant Professor Kaushik Jayaram and researcherÂ鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØBoulder is part of a new, $100 million interdisciplinary national partnership to address critical water security issues in the U.S.

The Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØBoulder portion is led by Professor Karl Linden from the Department of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering, with many other faculty across campus participating as well.

Funded by the U.S. Department of Energy for five years, the hub is focused on early-stage research and development for energy-efficient and cost-competitive desalination technologies,Ìýand for treating nontraditional water sources for various uses.

The hub is the result of years of planning and development by the National Alliance for Water Innovation, of which Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØBoulder is a founding member. Teams in the hub are developing a road map to determine where this technology will have the greatest impact.
