This weekend, check out several events oncampus, off campus and from the comfort of your home: Comedy open mic night, Persian New Year celebration, 鶹Ѱmen's lacrosse home-opener, free bowling, free Boss Lady Pizza, the Incuvate 鶹ѰBoulder hackathon, curling lessons at The Rec, three performances of Sweeney Todd, the spring football showcase,Nepal Night, a cheap date night at the movie theater and a Yin yoga session at The Rec.

Friday, March 16

Join fellow Buffs for a night of fun and laughter. Open mic night is a great way to make some friends and let go of stress after a long week. This event will be held at The Connection from 6to 8 p.m.

Do you like celebrating culture? Would you enjoy a night filled with comedy? Then come to 鶹ѰBoulder's annual Persian New Year celebration from 6 p.m. to midnight in the UMC Glenn Miller Ballroom.Light refreshments, including Persian chai and pastries, will be provided. Tickets are free for students with a valid Buff OneCard.

The No. 5-ranked Colorado Buffaloes men's lacrosse team will take on Arizona State (ranked No. 16) at 7 p.m. Friday, March 16, for their home-opener at Kittredge North Field. The Buffs are an impressive 5-1 so far this season, so it is sure to be an exciting game. Come out and support!

The Connection will be hosting free bowling from 7 to 9 p.m. Snacks will be provided. This event is open to everyone.


Saturday, March 17

The Center for Student Involvement will be giving out free pizza at Boss Lady from 9 a.m. to noon. Bring your Buff OneCard for a free slice of cheese or pepperoni pizza.

Join hackathon to help prototype the future of student apps

Are you a coder, designer, entrepreneur—or just curious about how design and technology can make life easier for students? Just bring yourself and your laptop to Incuvate 鶹ѰBoulder. The hackathon runs from 9 a.m. Saturday, March 17, to noon Sunday, March 18, atVillage Center.There are still slots available, so!

Now that the Olympics are over, get your winter sport fix with The Rec. From 12:15to 2:15 p.m.,International Student & Scholar Servicesare offering free curling lessons for campus community members.There also will be St. Patrick’s Day-themed activities at the event. Registration is required.

Spend the evening enjoying theEklund Opera Program's musical adaptation of Sweeney Todd. This spooky musical is a classic that takes place in London at a barber shop where not everything is as it seems. Saturday's show starts at 7:30 p.m.at Macky Auditorium, but there are also performances Friday night and Sunday afternoon.

Head to Folsom Field for the free spring football showcase. Activities will begin at 1p.m. with drills and practice, a scrimmage and a post-game selfie session with the team.

Join the Nepalese Student Organization for a night of Nepalese culture! There will be musical performances, dances and free food from 6 to 10p.m. in the UMC Glenn Miller Ballroom.

Students can see a free movie showing of either Black Panther or Love, Simon at the Century Boulder Theatre at the 29th Street Mall. Black Panther will begin at 9:20 p.m., and Love, Simon will begin at 10:20 p.m. Students should bring their Buff OneCard and arrive at the theater 30 minutes before the show time to receive their free ticket.


Sunday, March 18

The 鶹ѰBoulder Rec Center is hosting a free Yin yoga session for campus community members that will focus on stress relief. Attendees will learn the art of active therapeutic relaxation while also having access to other resources such as nutrition guidance and peer support groups. This event will run from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at The Rec'sturf gym.
