Inspired by the current discussions revolving around equity and access in music education, Sarah Minette takes an approach to music education that is grounded in culturally sustaining and anti-racist pedagogy. In this talk, Minette offers contemplations on the necessity to consider “what if,” “why” and “with whom” and the implications these ponderings have for the future of music education.

Take a virtual open lab tour and learn about the ATLAS Institute's inventive exploration and interdisciplinary research in fields such as human-robot interaction,wearable technologies,game design and more. Opening remarks by ATLAS Director Mark D. Gross will be followed by lightning talks by researchers and designers. During the breakout sessions that follow, visitors are invited to take a deeper dive into the work of individual labs and studios.

TED ⁠Countdown is a global initiative to champion and accelerate solutions to the climate crisis, turning ideas into action. The goal: to build a better future by cutting greenhouse gas emissions in half by 2030 in the race to a zero-carbon world—a world that is safer, cleaner and fairer for everyone.⁠ TEDxCU's Countdown event will feature talks shared at TED Countdown, in addition to our own panel and discussion focused on local solutions.
