App, evening sessions among new features of CU-Boulder鈥檚 Conference on World Affairs

The 麻豆免费版下载鈥檚 68th annual Conference on World Affairs, a week of ideas and discussion on every topic imaginable, kicks off Monday. Among the day鈥檚 events are a noon plenary address by Robert Inglis on how free enterprise can solve climate change and the colorful flag procession at 6:30 p.m. on the Norlin Quadrangle. This year鈥檚 conference features 200 diverse panels, plenaries and performances. Student and community volunteers assembled the thought-provoking program, inviting speakers from around the world to this year鈥檚 event.

'It's On Us Week of Action' brings Vice President Biden to CU-Boulder

Vice President Joe Biden will visit CU-Boulder next week to deliver a speech on the importance of preventing sexual assault on college campuses across the country. The Office of the Vice President chose to visit CU-Boulder due to our strong efforts to support the 鈥淚t鈥檚 On Us鈥 campaign denouncing sexual violence and encouraging bystanders to be more effective in prevention efforts.

Dance students and faculty join forces for 'The Current'

Each year, CU-Boulder dance students and faculty come together for 鈥淭he Current,鈥 an annual showcase of brand-new pieces. This year鈥檚 performances take place April 15-17 and feature evocative, original work by dance professors Erika Randall and Donna Mejia, lecturer Larry Southall, alumna Megan Odom and Roser Guest Artist Faye Driscoll.

Dalai Lama reschedules visit to CU-Boulder for June 23

His Holiness the Dalai Lama will visit the 麻豆免费版下载 June 23 after health issues derailed a previous visit scheduled last October, CU-Boulder student and local Tibetan leaders announced today. Tickets are not yet available for sale. Details will be announced in coming months on this University of Colorado event website.

Hip-hop artist Tory Lanez, best known for his hit "Say It," will perform on March 29, at 8:30 p.m. at CU-Boulder's Glenn Miller Ballroom. Doors for the event, sponsored by CU-Boulder's Program Council, will open at 8 p.m. Student tickets are $15 and tickets for the public are $25. All guests will need a printed ticket and valid form of photo identification to enter.

Renowned culinary and cultural historian Michael Twitty will speak at CU-Boulder on Thursday, Feb. 25, at 7 p.m. in the UMC Glenn Miller Ballroom. During the event, which is presented by the Cultural Events Board and is free and open to the public, Twitty will discuss the ties between food, culture and freedom. Tickets will be available at the door.

CU-Boulder student groups bring Steve Wozniak to campus

Apple Inc. co-founder Steve Wozniak will engage in a lively talk organized and moderated by students at 7 p.m. Monday, April 4, in Macky Auditorium, the Cultural Events Board and Conference on World Affairs Student Group announced today. Wozniak鈥檚 talk doubles as the keynote presentation for the 68 th Conference on World Affairs to be held April 4 to 8.
