Success Magazine Ranks CU-Boulder Program Among Best In Nation

For the fourth consecutive year, Success magazine has named the University of Colorado at Boulder one of the nation's top 25 schools for entrepreneurship education. Other colleges making the list, published in the magazineÂ’s September issue, included the University of California-Berkeley, Harvard, Northwestern, Cornell and the University of PennsylvaniaÂ’s Wharton School of Business.

Fans heading to the CU-Boulder campus for SaturdayÂ’s football game against the CSU Rams can save time and headaches by knowing in advance where they plan to park and by taking one of several suggested routes. Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØParking Services Manager Pam Greager said fans should try to arrive at least an hour before the 11:30 a.m. gametime to avoid traffic jams and to ensure getting parked and into the stadium on time. Stadium gates open at 10 a.m. “We expect a large crowd at this game because CSU is such a big rival of CU, so weÂ’re encouraging fans to arrive early,” said Greager.

Bruce Ekstrand Memorial to be Dedicated Friday The media are invited to attend the dedication of a sculpture plaza at the University of Colorado at Boulder Friday, Sept. 5, in memory of the late Bruce Ekstrand, former vice chancellor for academic affairs. The dedication will begin at 4 p.m. and last about 45 minutes. The event is not open to the general public, but about 200 friends and relatives were invited to attend.

The Career Services office at the University of Colorado at Boulder will hold a Career Fair on Sept. 24 at the Coors Events/Conference Center from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Company booths will be on display so that seniors can meet with business representatives in advance of on-campus interviews. Underclassmen can submit resumes for internships and freshmen in particular are encouraged to attend the fair to work on networking skills.

Search Committee Named For Vice Chancellor Post

An 11-member search committee has been named to seek a replacement for Wallace Loh, vice chancellor for academic affairs at the University of Colorado at Boulder, who leaves the campus Sept. 30. Loh recently resigned his position to become Director of Policy for Washington State Gov. Gary Locke. The committee, chaired by Arts and Sciences Dean Peter Spear, will begin with an internal search. If a qualified internal individual is not identified, the committee will launch a national search. Members of the committee include:

CU-Boulder To Improve Service, Curb Alcohol Abuse For 1997 Football Season

Football fans will be welcomed to games at the University of Colorado at Boulder this fall under a new plan that emphasizes improved customer service as well as a commitment to reduce alcohol abuse and rowdy game-day behavior. Among the initiatives will be an “ambassador” program to provide customer service and information to all fans as they proceed to the game, according to Athletics Director Richard Tharp. Tents will be set up around the campus, staffed with three or four ambassadors to greet people, answer questions and provide information about the game and CU-Boulder.
