In the early morning hours of Nov. 1, several buildings on the Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØBoulder campus were vandalized. The antisemitic messages contained in the vandalism violate the university’s policies on free expression and Campus Use of University Facilities, as well as Colorado law.

The Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØBoulder administration may send communications and take positions on issues, incidents or other situations that affect core functions of the university.

Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØBoulder has been working closely with our conference partners as well as the NCAA throughout the settlement negotiations in the pending antitrust cases.

The issue of divestment of the University of Colorado’s financial assets is a complex one, and it falls under the purview of Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØsystem leadership and the Board of Regents.

Following the tragedy at UCCS, Chancellor Philip DiStefano offers support and resources for those impacted on the Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØBoulder campus.

Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØBoulder condemns tactics designed to intimidate and threaten our students, faculty and staff. Outside groups publicly attempting to shame Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØBoulder community members is not a productive way to address the difficult conversations facing our society in a respectful and civil manner.

While the principles of academic freedom and freedom of expression protect the speech of Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØBoulder faculty, staff and students, that does not mean their points of view represent the perspectives of the university—nor that we endorse them. In an update Oct. 30, I want to recognize the Department of Ethnic Studies for its decision to remove its Oct. 22 online statement.

In light of the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, we want you to know we stand with you during these challenging times and offer resources for your academic success, well-being and safety.

We are horrified and saddened by the Hamas terrorist attack on Israel. We stand against all acts of violence and human suffering, and recognize the profound effects of the crisis on people living in the region, as well as Israeli and Palestinian scholars and students here in Colorado and around the world.
