Ryo Suzuki is an Assistant Professor at the ATLAS Institute and the Department of Computer Science at the 鶹Ѱ, where he leads the Programmable Reality Lab. Prior to joining 鶹ѰBoulder, he served as an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the University of Calgary. He earned his PhD in Computer Science from the 鶹Ѱ.
His research mission is to enhance human thought and creativity by transforming the entire living environment into a "dynamic space for thought", where people can think through tangible and spatial exploration with real objects in the real world, not with virtual objects on screens. His research has been published in top human-computer interaction and robotics conferences, including CHI, UIST, IROS, and ICRA, earning multiple awards. He has regularly served as a program committee member for CHI and UIST among others. Previously he also worked as a visiting researcher and research intern at Google, Adobe Research, Microsoft Research, Stanford University, UC Berkeley, the University of Tokyo, and Tohoku University.
