The PRR
The Professional Rights and Responsibilities of Faculty Members and Roles and Professional Responsibilities of Academic Leaders (PRR) is comprised of a policy document and a procedural document that set out in broad terms the privileges and responsibilities, as well as the standards of professional conduct for both the faculty and academic leaders. The PRR originated with the BFA in 1982 and was eventually approved as an academic policy by Provost Russell Moore in 2013. A revised PRR policy was signed by Provost Russell Moore on February 11, 2022.
Following changes to Regent Law Article V in 2018, the BFA worked with members of Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØBoulder Legal Counsel, Faculty Ombuds, and Faculty Relations to revise the procedural part of the PRR. The BFA Assembly approved the revised procedures document in 2021, and approved a further update in 2022.
As campus and system policy changes, the PRR procedural document and the enabling policy will be revised as needed. All modifications will be reviewed by the Assembly and the office of Academic Affairs.
For more information on the PRR policy, in-person department trainings, or to find out more about the online Skilsoft training, see the Office of Faculty Affairs PRR webpage.
Faculty may also contact the BFA Grievance Advisory Committee (GAC) for advice on grievances.
