The Office of the Chancellor at the Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØ hosts a ethics & compliance monthly brown bag series, which will feature a presentation by Dr. Mark Meaney from the Leeds School of Business’ Center for Education on Social Responsibility (CESR)Ìýcovering one of the seven essential components of any effective Ethics & Compliance Program - Internal Monitoring & Self-Assessment of Your Compliance Program. ÌýÌýÌý
CESR exists to prepare future leaders to confront social, environmental, economic, and ethical challenges faced by modern business.Ìý The center has four focus areas, one of which is Business Ethics.Ìý Dr. Meaney as Executive Director of CESR possesses more than twenty years of experience in the ethics and compliance profession.Ìý His experiences cover a wide array of industries including a substantial focus on higher education ethics and compliance programs.Ìý Ìý
In his presentation, Mark will share best practices for internal monitoring and self-assessments as well as share the purpose of these elements in an effective Ethics & Compliance program.Ìý Essential tools will be provided to assist attendees in monitoring and assessing their compliance program.Ìý Attendees will gain valuable insight on best practices in key focus areas of student data privacy, children’s programs and intellectual property as it relates to internal monitoring.Ìý During the hour session, case study discussions will provide opportunities to dive deeper into the principles explained in Mark’s presentation.Ìý Ample time for audience Q&A will exist during and following the presentation.

Overview of Series
Over the 2016-2017 academic year on the fourth Monday of each month, the Office of the ChancellorÌýwill host a series of seminars for the beginner to the expert compliance professional.Ìý During these meetings, subject matters experts will host a panel or offer a presentation to share and discuss compliance basics, case studies, trends and other issues of the day so that together we develop a shared understanding of how we fulfill our legal responsibilities and how we choose to operate to deliver on our three campus goals of shaping tomorrow’s leaders, being the top university for innovation and positively impacting humanity. All Brown Bag Series sessions are open to the Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØCommunity (students, faculty and staff).
