Leeds First-Year Experience

The transition to college is one of the most exciting moments in your life—but it can also be a time of stress and uncertainty. The Leeds First-Year Experience is designed to make you comfortable in this new setting while challenging you to explore, discover and excel. First-year students at Leeds enjoy a dedicated support network, special events and meetups, and access to unique resources that empower you to succeed.

When you accept your admission offer, you are seamlessly enrolled in the First-Year Experience. In addition, Leeds offers optional residential experiences, additional mentoring and global exploration opportunities for first-year students seeking additional engagement with the school, their peers and the world.

Customize Your Leeds Experience

Leeds offers a number of optional experiences for first-year students that are designed to help them acclimate to campus life and get the most out of their college experience.

A global perspective is invaluable for professionals working in any business. Leeds gives you a head start through the First-Year Global Experience, a short journey abroad during your second semester. You can also work as an intern abroad, get an immersive experience in our Global Seminars programs or pursue a traditional study abroad opportunity.

Mentor Center

Leeds is home to the largest mentorship program in the country—and it all begins before you arrive in Boulder. Your peer mentor will help transition to college life and ensure you've got a resource who's done it all before. We also offer mentorship opportunities with young alumni and established professionals

If you’re looking for a structured first-year experience, you’ll find it in our residential academic program. Here, you’ll take in-house classes and enjoy experiential learning opportunities with your roommates and peers. It’s a head start for fast friendships and a leg up in personal and professional development.
