Keith Molenaar

Dr. Keith Molenaar is the Dean in the Collegeof Engineering and Applied Sciences and K. StantonLewis Professor of Construction Engineering and Management in the Department of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering at the 鶹Ѱ. His teachingfocuses on risk and decisionanalysis, construction engineering, cost engineering andproject controls. His research focuses on risk analysis,alternative project delivery and cost estimating forinfrastructure projects. He is the primary author of morethan 150 technical reports and articles. He hasperformed project delivery and risk-related work for theCalifornia, Colorado, Florida, Minnesota, Texas, andWashington State Departments of Transportation. Dr.Molenaar has been a member of numerous technicalreview committees for projects including the ColumbiaRiver Bridge in Oregon and Washington, the SR520Floating Bridge in Washington State, the SanFrancisco-Oakland Bay Bridge in California, thePanama Canal Expansion project in Panama and ITERFusion Generator project in France. Dr. Molenaar is anactive member of the Transportation Research Board,American Society of Civil Engineers the ConstructionManagement Association of America and the Design Build Institute of America. Dr. Molenaarhas been recognized by Public Works Magazine as a top 50 “Trendsetter” for his work inalternative contracting in the public sector in 2004. He has also received the SAME ToulminMedal (2003), ASCE Thomas Fitch Rowland Award (2001), and the DBIA AcademicLeadership Award (2000). Dr. Molenaar was inducted into the Pan-American Academy ofEngineering in 2012 for his leadership in civil engineering throughout the Americas and the National Academy of Construction in 2017 for his contributions to the industry in the areas of risk management, cost modeling, and design build contracting.He was recognized as a fellow of the Design-Build Institute of America in 2019.
