Effective 1/1/2021 in accordance with the Healthy Families and Workplace Act, all student employees will accrue sick leave. The accrual rate will be 0.034 hours for every 30 hours worked. For example, if a student works 30 hours in a week, they earn 1.02 hours of paid sick leave.Ìý

Student employment classification: Student Assistant II Ìý
Pay rate: $17/hrÌý

Lead  attendants are responsible for welcoming and engaging with visitors, monitoring the safety and security of visitors and art, providing mentorship and leadership to museum attendant team and focusing on special projects related to museum initiatives. Lead attendants provide an additional layer of support to both museum attendants and staff.Ìý

Pay rate: $16/hrÌý

Student outreach assistants areÌýresponsibleÌýfor developing and implementing student programs related to exhibitions, outreach to students in dorms and resident academic programs,Ìýstudent clubs and organizations,Ìýas well asÌýassisting with informal evaluations and exhibition focus groups.Ìý

Pay rate:Ìý$80/semester

CollectionÌýcommittee members are charged with reviewing and voting on acquisitions and deaccessions to the museum’s collection. These decisions shape the collection and lay the groundwork for future growth. TheÌýcollectionÌýcommittee abides by the Collection Policy and its decisions support the collecting goals of the museum. CollectionÌýcommittee members are responsible for reviewing all acquisition and deaccession proposals submitted by the director and/or the museum’s chief curator and director of academic engagement. TheÌýcollectionÌýcommittee meets four times per academic year. Members commit to preparing for and attending at least three of those meetings. Ìý

The purpose of the community council is to help advance the Museum and its mission and strategic plan by providing advocacy, ambassadorship, community connections and guidance. Among the community council members key activities are those geared towards increasing public awareness of the Museum, fostering community involvement with the Museum, as well as assisting in developing relationships with a wide variety of constituencies. Ìý

Student employment classification: Student Assistant III 
Pay rate: $21/hrÌý

This position works under the supervision of the Chief Curator and Director of Academic Engagement and fulfills functions related to the research and care of artwork in the museum's collection. The student may be involved in exhibition planning and interpretation and/or may conduct general research on collection materials. While the student employee will work with a team, the candidate must also work independently and have the ability to structure their research. Ìý

ExhibitionsÌýassistants work closely with the Exhibitions Manager and Preparator on aspects of exhibition preparation and installation. Job responsibilities are project-specific but could include art handling, conservation framing, museum lighting, construction, carpentry, painting, art packing, didactic installation, and art installation.Ìý

Student employment classification: Student Assistant III
Pay rate: $21/hrÌý

The Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØArt Museum graduate assistant works closely with the Exhibitions Manager and Preparator on all aspects of exhibition preparation and installation. Experience is project-specific but may include conservation framing, art handling, art packing, art transportation, art installation, conservation lighting, gallery painting, wall construction, exhibition didactics, mount-making, and carpentry. The Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØArt Museum gradute assistant also works with the Collection Manger and Associate Collection Manager, assisting with the technical needs of the collection which may include condition reporting, database entry, unframing, and creating conservation storage mounts.

Student employment classification: Student Assistant III 
Pay rate: $21/hrÌý

Registration and Collections Assistants work closely with the Head Registrar and Collections Manager and the Associate Registrar and Collections Manager.ÌýÌýJob responsibilities are project specific but could include collections database work, art handling and storage management, inventory of collections, and working with artists, donors and other institutions as needed in support of the museum. While the student employee will work with a team, the candidate must also be able to work independently as well as with limited supervision and moderate to high levels of decision-making authority.
