  • WHY: Scientists and museums have A LOT of data on pollinators from the last 130 years. This project will mine those data and get them in a digital form so they can be used for research and conservation.
  • WHO: Anyone, campus and community members with access to a computer with an Internet connection can help. (Minimal typing skills and an ability to read cursive are helpful, but not necessary.)
  • WHERE: You can participate anywhere you can access the internet, Notes from Nature is an online community science program.
  • WHAT: Simply login, look at an image of an actual museum specimen, transcribe data verbatim from specimen labels into provided template and voila! It’s fun and oddly addicting once you get going!
  • WHEN: Anytime 24/7/356. The more time and the more people, the more data becomes available. Time per record is approximately 2 minutes.
