What is housing insecurity?Ìý
The Basic Needs Center defines housing insecurity as someone who is experiencing one of more of the following circumstances:Ìý
- Unhoused (living in a tent, an encampment or otherwise not in a permanent structure)Ìý
- Living in a vehicleÌý
- Couchsurfing or otherwise temporarily living with othersÌý
- Living in an uninhabitable residence (lack of heating, presence of mold or asbestos, etc.)Ìý
- *Experiencing safety concerns such as domestic violence or interpersonal violenceÌý
- Otherwise unable to access housing that meets basic needsÌý
*The Basic Needs Center is not a crisis center. Students facing violence in the home should contact 911, the Office of VictimÌýAssistance 24/7 support line at 303-492-8855 orÌýthe National Domestic Violence Hotline at 800-799-7233.Ìý
How to refer a student
