Transfer students: 5 easy ways to become a Buff

1. Meet the Transfer Peer Mentors
Transfer Peer Mentors are current Âé¶¹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØBoulder transfer students who are here to support you during your time as a Transfer Buff. They are happy to connect with you directly to share their experiences, provide insight into the Âé¶¹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØBoulder experience or simply answer any questions you may have. Meet the Peer Mentors.
2. Attend transfer student eventsÌý
Attending campus events is a great opportunity to try new things, participate in fun activities and even get to know others you might not otherwise have had the chance to meet.
Throughout the semester, there will be events specifically for transfer students. Join these events to meet fellow Buffs, get involved and have fun! Be sure to pick up your free Transfer Buff t-shirt when you attend an event and check out all transfer student events.
3. Find your community
Sometimes, to make a big school feel like home, it helps to find your group of people.ÌýÌý
Getting involved can help you meet friends, discover interests and hobbies and even explore different career paths. Here are a few of the many possibilities to check out this semester:
Try out one of the Rec Center’s FitWell classes and meet fellow Buffs who are interested in staying active.
Join the Sustainable Buffs Community for opportunities to engage in community building, education and leadership in sustainability.
Find a student organization to join through . Find groups by category or alphabetical list. If you can’t find one, start an organization of your own!
Become a member of The Herd Leadership Council and celebrate your place at Âé¶¹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØBoulder. As a Herd Leader, you can be a part of enhancing inclusivity, Buff pride and networking opportunities on campus.
Participate in community-building programs, educational workshops and inclusive events with the Center for Inclusion & Social Change.Ìý
4. Volunteer
Volunteering is another great way to connect with Âé¶¹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØBoulder and the Boulder community. Not only can you meet new people and make a positive impact in your community, but there are many options to fit your interests and schedule. Visit the Volunteer Resource Center (VRC) to learn more. If you’re looking for a way to engage in meaningful service over your spring break, consider taking an Alternative Breaks trip for a chance to explore the U.S. while making a difference and creating connections.
