Miki Brooks
Director of Transfer Success Initiatives
Office of Undergraduate Education

Miki Brooks is originally from Hilo, Hawaii. She received a Bachelor's in Psychology and Sociology from the George Washington University and a Master's in Higher Education Administration from the University of Maryland, College Park. Miki then served as an assistant director and academic advisor at the University of Maryland, developing and implementing programs to support students through their transition to UMD and into their best fit major. Most recently, she served as an advising supervisor in Biology here at Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØBoulder.

In her free time, Miki enjoys spending time with her family and friends, baking, trying out new restaurants, and exploring all that Colorado has to offer.

Jessica Drelles

Jessica is a Colorado native and grew up in Longmont. She earned her BA from the University of Northern Colorado in Social Science and & Nonprofit Administration and her MA in Higher Education, Student Development from the University of Denver. As a student at UNC, Jessica realized her passion for higher education and helping students achieve their goals. She has worked in admissions, academic advising and career counseling at Naropa University, University of Denver, Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØBoulder. Most recently she served as a Pathways Advisor and Career Counselor at Front Range Community College.  

Jessica enjoys spending time with her family and friends, camping & ATVing in the Colorado Mountains, and trying to keep up with her daughter!

Carly is originally from Floydada, Texas. She received her BS in Advertising & Public Relations from West Texas A&M University and her MA in Strategic Communication & Innovation from Texas Tech University. Carly’s passion for higher education started when she was hired as an Academic Advisor at Texas Tech University. Most recently she worked as a Transfer Admissions Counselor at Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØDenver. When she isn’t advocating for students, Carly enjoys attending concerts, exploring new places, and spending time with her friends and family.

Tanya Allen-Gaines

Tanya lives in the foothills community of Lyons, CO. She earned her BS in Elementary Education from the University of Missouri, Columbia and her MS in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Kansas, Lawrence. As a 4th grader, Tanya knew she would be a teacher after showing her class how to make a Statue of Liberty torch from tissue paper and a flashlight. For over twenty-five years, she has enjoyed a diverse education career with students from elementary to college. Most recently, she worked as a developmental math instructor at Front Range Community College.

In her free time, Tanya plays flute with the Longmont Concert Band and enjoys time with her family and all that the Colorado outdoors has to offer.

Jason Benton

Program Coordinator for the Transfer Student Experience

Jason is originally from Dallas, Texas and received a BS in Industrial/Organizational Psychology at Colorado State University. As a student at CSU, Jason worked with thousands of new and incoming students to help find a sense of belonging and community at the university. Most recently he was the transfer student program coordinator at the University of Texas at Dallas.

In his free time you can find Jason skiing, at a disc golf course, or at a local bookstore doing his best to limit himself to buying just one book.
