MASP is now accepting applications for PEAC and BOUND Mentors. We are looking for students who exemplify MASP’s commitment to building a diverse and inclusive academic community for highly motivated students. PEAC is planned to take place in person on campus.

Job Descriptions

MASP is now accepting applications for PEAC Mentors for Summer of 2025. We are looking for students who exemplify MASP’s commitment to building a diverse and inclusive academic community for highly motivated students. 
Job Duties
  • Provide hands-on oversight and mentoring to a pod of students (including appropriate reporting and documentation)
  • Attend scheduled courses and study hours; provide learning assistance to students
  • Live in the residence hall and attend scheduled dorm duty shifts
  • Help plan and participate in required community-building activities, community events, and recreational activities, including during the evenings and weekends
  • Attend weekly staff meetings with the mentoring team, program director, and instructional faculty
  • Stay in regular communication with the mentor team, staff, and faculty
  • MOST IMPORTANTLY: Uphold and model exemplary behavior consistent with MASP’s commitment to academics and community

Availability and Training

  • Must be available to live and work full-time on campus from July 9th - August 1st, 2025
     
    • PEAC Mentors will be asked to commit their time fully to PEAC and refrain from other employment or class enrollment during the program (exceptions might be made for minor overlaps, but must be fully disclosed in the application and receive director approval)
  • Participate in 4 mandatory training sessions during the Spring 2025 semester 
     
    • Tentatively scheduled for Mondays from 6:00pm-7:30pm on March 3rd, March 17th, March 31st, and April 14th
  • Participate in mandatory training July 9th - July 11th 2025

Compensation

  • PEAC mentors will be compensated $2100 (including training) and will receive free Room & Board during the program
    • All mentors will be required to apply for summer work-study through their Buff Portal (but can still be hired if that request is not approved)
  • Of the 8 PEAC mentors, 2 will be designated as co-lead mentors with additional responsibilities and pay ($2500)
     
    • Lead mentors will ideally have experience in similar positions and will help coordinate training, scheduling, activities, etc.

Bound Programs: 

 

MASP is now accepting applications for Bound Program Mentors for the AY 2025-26. We are looking for students who exemplify MASP’s commitment to building a diverse and inclusive academic community for highly motivated students and are available throughout the AY 2025-26 school year.   

Program Description 
MASP has two discipline-specific Bound Programs:
  • Combined Social Science and Arts & Humanities Bound
  • Science Bound

Each Bound Program is a year-long program for first-year students who are interested in building a strong and inclusive community with students who have similar academic interests. Each program includes a 3.5-day Pre-Arrival Orientation program at the beginning of move-in week, two one-credit Bound-specific courses (one fall; one spring), and a weekend experience. Dates for these programming components are included later in the application. 

Job Duties

  • Provide hands-on mentoring to a pod of students, including meetings outside of specific program times
  • Attend classes and provide learning assistance for the courses to Bound students
  • Attend and lead some of the programming for the Pre-Arrival Orientation and weekend experience
  • Help plan and participate in community-building activities
  • Attend regular meetings with director(s) to prepare for class and provide updates on students
  • MOST IMPORTANTLY: Uphold and model exemplary behavior consistent with MASP’s commitment to academics and community


Availability and Training

  • Must be available to attend all Bound programming and provide mentoring support to students throughout both fall and spring semesters in the AY 2025-26.
  • Must be available to attend your assigned Bound course.
  • Must be available to attend all mentor training.


Qualifications & Compensation

  • Must be a current MASP student.
  • Must have a major or minor in the division for which you would mentor. For example, if your major is in the Social Sciences, apply for the Social Sciences / Arts & Humanities Bound program. If you are unsure which division your major is in, you can find a list here: /artsandsciences/academics/degree-programs (choose your division from the list -- Arts & Humanities, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences)
  • $3000 for AY 2024-25
