Bound Programs:
MASP is now accepting applications for Bound Program Mentors for the AY 2025-26. We are looking for students who exemplify MASP’s commitment to building a diverse and inclusive academic community for highly motivated students and are available throughout the AY 2025-26 school year.
Program Description
MASP has two discipline-specific Bound Programs:
- Combined Social Science and Arts & Humanities Bound
- Science Bound
Each Bound Program is a year-long program for first-year students who are interested in building a strong and inclusive community with students who have similar academic interests. Each program includes a 3.5-day Pre-Arrival Orientation program at the beginning of move-in week, two one-credit Bound-specific courses (one fall; one spring), and a weekend experience. Dates for these programming components are included later in the application.
Job Duties
- Provide hands-on mentoring to a pod of students, including meetings outside of specific program times
- Attend classes and provide learning assistance for the courses to Bound students
- Attend and lead some of the programming for the Pre-Arrival Orientation and weekend experience
- Help plan and participate in community-building activities
- Attend regular meetings with director(s) to prepare for class and provide updates on students
- MOST IMPORTANTLY: Uphold and model exemplary behavior consistent with MASP’s commitment to academics and community
Availability and Training
- Must be available to attend all Bound programming and provide mentoring support to students throughout both fall and spring semesters in the AY 2025-26.
- Must be available to attend your assigned Bound course.
- Must be available to attend all mentor training.
Qualifications & Compensation
- Must be a current MASP student.
- Must have a major or minor in the division for which you would mentor. For example, if your major is in the Social Sciences, apply for the Social Sciences / Arts & Humanities Bound program. - $3000 for AY 2024-25
